OCI Scheme is
now operational. Please visit the website of the
Ministry of Home Affairs http://mha.nic.in or Ministry of
Overseas Indian Affairs http://moia.gov.in for information and
application forms.
Applicants are advised to
read the instructions before filling the OCI
application. The OCI application has two Parts
i.e. Part A and Part B. Part A has to be filled in
for each applicant of the family and Part B is
common for all applicants of the family. Part A of
the OCI application form can be submitted on-line
by the Applicants whereupon a registration number
will be generated which may be called Reference
Number . Once Part A is submitted on line, the
applicant cannot make any changes to it.
Applicants not wishing to register themselves on
line can take a print out of the application form
and fill Part A by hand in legible CAPITAL LETTERS
or type it.
Both Parts A & B to be
submitted , in duplicate, together along with
enclosures and the requisite fee.
Applications for OCI
service can be submitted at the Embassy between
0900 hrs and 1200 hrs on all working days.
Applicants are advised to ensure that no column of
the application is left unattended. Apart from
affixing photographs and signatures at the
designated places on the application, it may also
be ensured that the requisite numbers of spare
photographs of prescribed size are enclosed with
the application.
Photograph
specification:
- Show full front view of
the persons head and shoulders showing the full
face centre in the middle of the
photograph
- Have a light color
background(no white)
- The photograph should
measure 3.5cmx3.5cm without border.
Applicants signature/thumb
impression should not touch outlines of the
signature box. The existing foreign passport,
cancelled or expired Indian passports if available
and their photocopies also need to be produced
along with the application.
Please note that in case of
minors the signature of the parent should not be
there in the signature box.
