WORKING HOURS :
- 0900 hrs to 1200 hrs. (Monday to Friday except on holidays)
- Queue numbers for submission of Application and collection of Visas are issued from 0900 hrs to 1200 hrs. All those who have collected a number by 1200 hrs are attended to.
- All visa applicants (except Thai passport holders and resident foreign nationals) who have applied for visa and asked to submit their passport on 5th working day, may submit their passports between 1200 hrs and 1300 hrs at Counter No. 2. Visa could be collected between 1500 hrs and 1630 hrs the same day.
TO APPLY, PLEASE SUBMIT :
- Completed Visa application form. Application forms are made available free of cost by the Indian Embassy. The forms are also available at Website. (Please fill up all the columns legibly and sign)
- Two recent colour photographs. (Size 1" or 2")
- Photocopy of passport.
- Copy of Thai Work Permit / Residence Permit: Nationals other than Thais, resident in Thailand for more than 3 years may please submit a copy of their Work Permit / Residence Permit.
- Visa fee as applicable.
- Business Visa, please submit a letter of invitation from the Indian company and a letter of purpose from the company where the applicant is employed.
- Student Visa, please contact Education Officer through Reception and submit a letter of admission from the School / College / University in India. (Only Thai nationals and foreign nationals who are residents for more than 3 years are attended to).
- For Employment Visa, please submit a letter from the Indian company addressed to the Indian Embassy along with a copy of the Employment Contract signed between the Employer and the Employee. (Only Thai nationals and foreign nationals who are residents for more than 3 years are attended to).
- For Journalist Visa, please contact Attache (Information & Culture) through Reception. Foreign Journalists are granted Journalist Visa even if the purpose is tourism or meeting relatives etc.
- For Transit Visa, applicant is required to produce documents for country of destination, and the countries en-route and to establish that his / her onward passage ex-India is reasonably assured e.g. the applicant possesses a through air-ticket, or evidence that he / she genuinely intends to proceed to destination beyond India.
- For Official / Diplomatic / Service Passport holders and those holding Laissez-Passer: please submit a Note Verbale from the respective organization along with appropriate supporting documents.
- SPECIAL PRIVILEGE TO BUDDHIST MONKS/NUNS HOLDING THAT PASSPORTS : Generally six months/double entry gratis visa is granted to Buddhist monks/nuns holding Thai passports intending to visit India for pilgrimage.
Note
Foreign nationals who do not hold resident visas in Thailand are dealt with in a case by case basis
Foreign nationals already possessing Business Visa/Resident Permit are advised, in their own interest, to apply for extension of the stay in India with appropriate authorities viz FRRO / State Government / Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi and need not visit Bangkok for this purpose.
NORMAL VALIDITY OF VISA :
- Tourist Visa
Generally 1/2/3/6 Months visa is granted to tourists, except for some specified nationalities.
- Business Visa
Duration of visa will depend on genuine requirements. Partners/ Employees of Companies with major investments / Projects / Business in India. Generally 1/2/3/6 Months visa is granted.
- In addition to the visa fee, Baht 400/- is payable as reference charge for visa applicants who are resident in Thailand for less than 3 years.
- Student Visa
Duration will depend on the length of the course.
- Employment Visa
Initially a visa up to one-year is granted. This can be extended in India.
- Diplomatic/ Official/ Gratis passport holders (except for specified countries) and those holding a Laissez-Passer : 3 Months Single Entry
- Long-term visa
Visas valid for 1-5 years are issued to People of Indian Origin resident in Thailand.

NOTE
In addition to
the visa fee, Baht 400/- is
payable as reference charge for visa applicants
who are resident in Thailand for less than 3

For emergency
services, Baht 1200/- is
payable over and above the normal visa fee for
rendering emergency service after working hours
and on holidays in case of genuine emergency
such as death or serious illness in the family
and if the case does not fall under reference
categories involving clearance from other
Missions / authorities.
Nationals of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Czech Republic, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Slovak Republic and Uzbekistan, not resident in Thailand, should apply for their visas in their country of residence.
Special visa additional applications are needed for nationals of Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The validity of visas starts from the date of issue. Visas are processed on receipt of the application, irrespective of the date of travel. Applicants seeking short term visa up to six months are therefore, advised to apply for the same closer to date of travel so that they are able to complete their trip during the validity of the visas.
Acceptance of visa application and mention of a collection date on the receipt do not necessarily mean grant of visa. The Embassy of India reserves the right to delay/refuse visa without assigning any reasons. Visas are issued subject to all checks and clearances.
Applicant may be required to appear for an interview at his / her own expenses. In such cases, the date of pick-up shown on the receipt need not be applicable.
The Embassy of India shall not be held liable to any claim arising out of delay / refusal of visa or loss of passport in transit or otherwise.
Refund of fees: Fees once received is not refunded, even if the application is withdrawn or the service cannot be rendered.
Please tender the exact amount in Baht in cash at the Consular Counter. We regret our inability to accept any other kind of payment such as traveler cheques, personal cheques, demand drafts, etc. A receipt will be issued for the amount paid which may be retained and presented at the time of collecting the visa/serviced documents.
While collecting passports, applicants may satisfy that appropriate visas are issued.
