2nd SSEASR Conference at Mahidol University
The Institute of Language and Culture for Rural Development, Mahidol University in collaboration with South and South-East Asian Association for the Study of Culture and Religion (SSEASR), New Delhi organized an International Conference on “Syncretism in South and South-East Asia: Adoption and Adaptation” from 24 – 27th May 2007. ICCR had sponsored six delegates from India to participate in this Conference. The Conference was inaugurated by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. During the inauguration of the Conference, HRH Princess also presented awards to the organizers in which Shri Abhijit Chakravertty, Counsellor(I&C) accepted this award on behalf of the Embassy and ICCR, New Delhi.
Buddhist Heritage in India
The Embassy in association with the Indiatourism Office, Singapore organized a presentation on “Buddhist Heritage in India” by two eminent Buddhist scholars Dharmacharya Shantum Seth and Dr. Titus Leber on 30th May, 2007 at the Novotel Lotus Hotel, Bangkok. The function was attended by large number of tour operators/travel agents, media persons and a few members from the diplomatic corps.
